Developed by CD Projekt Red, the game entitled Cyberpunk 2077 is an impending FPS and Role-Playing game which is intended to be released on various gaming platforms mainly on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is set in the futuristic Night City in the state of California.
CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, FPS Role Playing Game where you play as a mercenary named as V. The game focuses on shooting and scooting. Players can use any item from a large arsenal of guns pre-built in the game.
V is a cyber ninja – a mercenary with the skills of an actual ninja but also very advanced due to various gadgets and upgrades it uses. His character is highly customizable. You will be able to choose a variety of options to personalize your V character – from its gender, face, hairstyle, body type to its body modifications and clothing. You can also alter the stats to your likings, which may include the constitution, intelligence, reflex, strength, tech, and cool.
The setting of the game is in the futuristic metropolis of Night City, located between San Francisco and Los Angeles in the state of California. Your character can freely roam the various regions or districts where most of the game’s quest and skirmishes are located. The districts include places such as the City Center, where most of the corporate buildings are located. There’s also the immigrant-filled Watson, the friendly neighborhood of Westbrook, the rich suburbs of Heywood, gang-ridden Pacifica and the Santo Domingo district where the industry is booming. V can navigate any of these places on foot or using various vehicles, in which you can also customize or modify.
Development and Release
The game was originally intended to be a multiplayer setup, which was later on trashed. From there, the developer decided that it would be a more interesting gameplay to push for a single-player mode. The game gathers inspiration from several cyberpunk works such as the original tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020, and several films such as the film Blade Runner and the anime Ghost in the Shell. The game was announced back on the year 2012, but after almost seven years it is still not yet released. Various speculations on the release date were made, but the game developer, CD Projekt Red, confirmed that it would not still be released in 2019. Several sources speculate that it will not be released in the next few years.
